FELLER has its own extrusion department and manufactures flexible, PVC jacketed cordage to North American, European (<HAR>), Australian and Japanese Standards as well as some "universal" types which are harmonized, UL listed, CSA certified and SAA approved. On-line diameter control and spark testing ensure consistent high quality.

There are some major differences between the above types, e.g.:

  • Construction (tensile strenght)
  • Wire sizes (AWG vs. metric sizes)
  • Stranding
  • Color coding of conductors

Harmonized Cordage <HAR> per CENELEC document HD21. CENELEC is the European Commitee for Elektrotechnical Standardization. Member countries are: Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Norway, Portugal, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland & United Kingdom. Only manufacturers from these countries are permitted to use the <HAR> mark. Other manufaturers must have national approvals from every country into which the cordage will be shipped. Our universal types are particularly useful for jumper cords. They eliminate the need to stock different cords for overseas markets. One cord meets the safety requirements of the major markets.
